Coffee Butter Lip Balm

final coffee lip balm

It’s no secret that us Pacific North Westerners love our coffee. So we decided to dedicate this month to our favorite morning beverage! We’re kicking off Coffee Month with this super simple, super luxurious lip balm made almost entirely our of coffee butter. Coffee butter is safe to use in lip balm up to 100%, but we decided to add a little bit of beeswax to harden it just a tad, and a little bit of jojoba oil for an extra touch of amazing moisture. No need to flavor this wonderful product, as the smell and taste of the coffee butter is enough on its own. Coffee lovers rejoice!

**This recipe yields about 12 sliding lip tins**

What You’ll Need:

2 oz Coffee Butter
.3 oz White Beeswax
.35 oz Jojoba Oil

Hardware:

Scale
Microwave safe container
Spoon

Directions:

Measure 0.3 oz White Beeswax. Melt in microwave on 30 second bursts.

pic1

Once completely melted, add 2 oz of Coffee Butter. Pop back in microwave on 10 second bursts until fully melted. Make sure to mix well in between bursts. We want to add as little of an outside heat source as possible, as the Coffee Butter can crystallize and form a grainy lip balm if melted too quickly.

pic2

Add .35 oz Jojoba oil and mix well.

pic3

Pour into sliding lip tins.

pic4

Wait about 10-15 minutes for balm to cool before putting the lids on.

pic5

Enjoy your caffeine-bursted lip balm!

Mint to Bee Lip Balm

6

Continuing on with bee month, we have created an amazing moisturizing lip balm that is perfect for this pesky winter weather!

What You’ll Need:

0.35 oz Yellow Beeswax
0.25 oz Coconut Oil
0.65 oz Jojoba Oil
0.25 oz Cocoa Butter
0.15 oz Shea Butter
1.5 mL – 2 mL Mint Julep Flavor Oil
10 Black Lip Balm Tubes

**If you are not local, you can get all of this and more at Bramble Berry! They will ship directly to you!**

__________

In a small container, weigh out the beeswax, coconut oil and jojoba oil. Heat in the microwave on 30 second bursts until the beeswax is completely melted.

1 2

Once the beeswax is heated, add in both the cocoa butter and shea butter. If needed, place back in the microwave on 10 second bursts until melted. Be sure not to heat the butters too much as overheating can cause them to crystallize.

3

Now you can add in the flavor oil. Add 1.5 mL – 2 mL Mint Julep flavor oil and mix in completely.

4

Line the lip balm containers up, and pour to the very top. Let sit for 15-30 minutes to fully harden before use.

If you want nice flat tops, you can always use a cutter/scraper to make them consistent.

Chapped Nose Ointment

9

The wind is blowing, the snow is snowing and your little nose is just so cold and irritated.  Don’t fret!  We have the perfect solution to help keep your ‘Rudolph nose’ from making an unsightly appearance.  The soothing qualities of calendula, oat, and aloe will help alleviate and gently moisturize any chapped skin you may have. Plus, it makes a great addition to those care-packages you may be sending out this holiday season.

What You’ll Need:

0.7 oz White Beeswax
0.7 oz Shea Butter
1 oz Calendula Infused Sweet Almond Oil
2 drops Lavender 40/42 Essential Oil
2 drops Egyptian Geranium Essential Oil
10 drops Carrot Extract
10 drops Oat Extract
5 drops Aloe Extract
5 Slidey Lip Tins

**If you are not local, you can get all of this and more at Bramble Berry! They will ship directly to you!**

__________

In a jar, add 1 oz dried calendula herb and completely submerge with sweet almond oil. Place it in a crockpot full of water. Be sure the water doesn’t spill into the jar.
Place on low for 8 hours. This creates a hot infusion of calendula into the oil.

1

2

3

After the hot infusion is done, pour the oil in a different container straining it so you don’t get any calendula herb in it. Then, weigh out the beeswax and 1 oz calendula infused sweet almond oil and heat in the microwave on 30 second bursts until the wax is completely melted.
*You will have sweet almond oil left over, pour into a container and use for another project!*

4

5

6

Once the wax is melted, add in the shea butter. Microwave again on 15 second bursts until the butter is melted.

Now you will add in the extracts and the essential oils. Once added, stir until completely incorporated.

7

Pour into the slidey lip tins and let fully solidify.

With this cold weather we’ve been having, your nose might feel a little bit chapped. Rub some of this ointment on it for amazing healing and soothing properties!

For the month of December, take 15% off all bases!
