Jill Heuser is the soapmaking artist behind Northwest Scents. Northwest Scents grew out of one woman’s dream for quality, gentle and unique bath and body products. Jill’s goal is to use the highest quality ingredients available to create the finest selection of bath and body products possible. Using exotic butters, oils and other natural ingredients to nourish and pamper her customers.

Northwest Scents has quickly become a local favorite. She creates products in her “spare time” when she is not wrangling her three energetic kids. Jill has been making bath & body products for 8 years and has taught at Otion for the last 4. With her degree in Biology, she’s a natural at explaining the chemistry behind lotion making.


Debbie Chialtas of Soapy LoveDebbie Chialtas is a self taught melt and pour soap crafter who has been feverishly making soaps for almost 4 years. Her business, Soapylove, is famous for its unique "soapsicles," which have appeared in Glamour, People, Cosmogirl, and other magazines around the world. Debbie was a guest on the DIY Network's Craft Lab and has a melt & pour soap crafting book coming out this Fall. She is also a mother of 2 and lives with her husband in San Diego. Lori Nova of the Nova StudioLori Nova owner of The Nova Studio in Point Richmond, California, began making natural bath & body products in her kitchen in 2000 as a way to make family & friends homemade, practical gifts. Shortly thereafter, she began sharing her passion and teaching classes. Lori is a gifted instructor, having taught for the Soap Guild, The Learning Annex, De Anza College and numerous other outlets. Anne Marie Faiola has been making soaps and toiletries since she was 16. She is the founder of Bramble Berry Inc. which sells quality raw soaping materials (including butters, oils, fragrance oils, essential oils, and colors) to the soap and toiletries makers of the world. Now in its 11th year of business, Bramble Berry serves over 33,000 customers world wide and has been featured in magazines such as Women's World Daily, Herb Companion, HomeArts, Parents Guide, Herb Quarterly, Better Homes & Gardens Special Interest Publications and mentioned in Cosmo Girl, Teen Vogue and Allure Magazine. Anne-Marie has also appeared as a repeat guest on the Martha Stewart Radio show, Disney Radio and numerous TV shows, including DIY's Craft Lab and Home Shopping Network. Cancellations: If you cannot make it to this event please be kind enough to let us know at least 10 days in advance so we may give your spot to another eager soaper! At that point we can refund your registration fee, minus a $25 cancellation fee. No refunds for no-shows and late cancellations (ie less than 10 days notice).
